Madalitso (2018)
Going jazzy and on a Gospel tip, Edith unleashes Madalitso in 2018 to critical acclaim with the track Mabasa sitting on the number one spot of the Capitalk 100.4fm’S Gospel Charts for over 8 weeks. Going Gospel and experimenting with Jazzy grooves, Edith proves her versatility and ability to express herself widely musically. Look out for other tracks on this ten track effort such as Ng’thembel’ Kuwe, Bonga and the plug track on this album Madalitso.
Kwacha (2013)
Edith bounced back as a recording artist with her second studio ablum titled Kwacha, which further enhanced her status as a well respected bassist and recording artist in Zimbabwe. With this album Edith grew her regional stature with performances in Uganda, a second time, South Africa and India. Tracks to look out for include Rudo, Royera Kure and Hautengwe, where she experiments with more sounds that influence her.
Utonga (2010)
This is Edith’s debut album as a solo artists and contains ten tracks which announce her arrival on the national scene in Zimbabwe. With plugs tracks such as Mukaranga and Chipendani, which define her sound the album served to launch Edith’s lively live performances which have to date defined her status. Chipendani went on to be selected as the lead track for the Zimbabwe Awake compilation by Sheer Records of South Africa for the year 2012.
Agodoka (Remix) (2014)
Featuring rapper and local Hip Hop star OutSpoken, thi is a remix of Edith’s song of the same title from her debut album. This is a joyous mix of funk, jazz and Zimbabwean Folklore on a hip hop tip with Edith’s melodies, a thumping bassline and OutSpoken’s witty bars. Again Edith shows off her wide range of styles here, but the sound uniquely remains Edith WeUtonga’s
